There was a time when a brightly-painted wooden horse was enough to elicit a smile on a child's face. My many elves, whom I pay a standard living wage with benefits (which includes medical, dental, annual paid vacation, retirement and free reindeer rides), were experts at making dozens of toys from dolls to trains.
