PAX 2009 In Pictures
SEATTLE, WA–Since the dawn of time mankind has gathered to celebrate the things that matter–the harvest, a joining of families, free beer…and gaming. The Penny Arcade Expo (PAX 2009) brought more than 60,000 game fans together in the rainy city for the biggest Labor Day celebration of geekdom ever, and The Imaginary Game News Network was in the thick of it to bring you all the unreported stories that we imagined were taking place all around us. Several of the staff had mental breakdowns, one caught the Swine Flu, and Rondo Nobson was shipped back to Electronic Arts in one of the giant packing cases that held the performance stage for The Beatles: Rock Band. But this is not a story to be told primarily in words. We sent our award-shunning photographers into the melee with state-of-the-art cell phone stealth camera technology to capture the moments that, either real or imagined, defined PAX.
